Also how is this movie doing so well? I feel like it's only popular because it has Nolan's name on it and stars a bunch of A-list celebrities. But the film itself was mid as fuck. I fell asleep in the theater two hours into it.
Was it even close to the books? IDK never read them. (Also, that poor giant cyclops didn't deserve to lose his eye. They could have just snuck away while it slept.)
I haven't seen the movie yet but the cyclops losing its eye was definitely in the poem and kinda important to the plot.
If you actually want to read it at some point, try Emily Wilson's translation, it's said to be one of, if not the most readable version because it doesn't force fake olden English on you and uses a rhythm scheme that reads better in the English language. And she's now translated Iliad too.
