They just put things back into the replicator without washing them. Otherwise you'd end up with as many cups as tribbles.

Would've been a neat canon quirk if all replicator-produced dinnerware were edible, but seldom taken advantage of on account of them being hard and bland... like those "which one is cake" videos where they eat shoes and the like.

That was the issue with those travel mugs. Likely why they’re not sold anymore. Another 90s item that did not last.
