Mullvad but the founder is a fascist so ill change that after my time runs out

[-] taco_shale032@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 day ago

I’m not defending Mullvad, but this does lack more context.

[-] minty@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago

What context? Only thing I can think of it was a private donation rather than made by mullvad itself

[-] taco_shale032@lemmy.ml 13 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It was the co-founder, Daniel, that made the donation, the other founder, Fredrik, “did not like that he made this donation”.

Edit: I’ll include a link to Mullvad’s official response to the controversy since it’s relevant.

How many times does it have to be 'discussed' though?

lemmy has a search function, 99% of people here already know what happened with mullvad.

Lemmy does have a search function, but is it good?

I’m not necessarily looking for a new discussion, I just thought it was important to clarify since it reads differently when you have more context.

I doubt those that are unaware would look much deeper into it.

it reads differently when you have more context

In what way?

[-] taco_shale032@lemmy.ml 1 points 15 hours ago

As I mentioned in my other comment, there are two founders, one of which does not like the action of the other.

Despots and the elite always like to brand themselves as democratic, for the people, or whatever. Its the usual propaganda. Can't have the peasants seeing them for what they really are.

Looks like a social networks hate campaign to me.
