20TF living in Shinjuku since last summer, looking to make friends and meet people :)
i turned my apartment into a hangout spot with a bunch of stuff:
- full size touchscreen dart machine
- DAM karaoke machine with a proper mic setup
- truck sim rig with wheel, pedals and monitor
- a Sunmi kiosk where you can play games and print custom memes/gifs on a receipt printer
- a BLÃ…HAJ pit (400 shark plushies) with ocean wave projectors, sound effects and an OLED tv
i found security vulnerabilities in Red Bull and Tom Holland's beer company, reported them responsibly, and they hooked me up as a thank you. 15 cases of Red Bull and 20 cases of Tom Holland's NA beer which is honestly great for cocktails. i also do this kind of work full time as a security researcher, you might have seen some of my stuff in the news for hacking FIFA, McDonald's, Frontier Airlines, the Pope's prayer app, and a bunch of others
im pansexual, trans, self employed in cybersecurity, and free basically all the time. very much a people person and honestly pretty lonely here, so id love to meet cool folks for friendship, dates, events, whatever
i love tech, programming, animals, nature, musicals, baking, hiking, gaming, clarinet, cocktail mixing, geocaching, record collecting, and crime documentaries. music taste is Tally Hall, Will Wood, classic rock and metal. you can also watch me hack live if you're into that lol
based in Shinjuku, happy to grab a drink or food nearby and see if we vibe. open any day, any time
looking to connect with women, trans folks, and non-binary people. thanks for respecting that <3
I don't know you. That's your page, sure, I don't see anything that suggests you have an entire palace in Shinjuku where the average living space is a shoe carton. You as the expert haxx0r of all people should know that it's a bad idea to just trust randos on the internet, especially when they make unusual claims.
what do you expect me to do dox myself?
No, I'm voicing concerns that, imho, should be normal in interactions such as this.
bro just meet me for drinks in a PUBLIC place then?? Like what do i have to gain to lie about my apartment size HOLY FUCK
What people have to gain by lying about stuff is attention. I'm not saying you're lying, I'm saying it's unusual and worthy of suspicion.
Please stop spamming my DMs, I don't want to discuss this in private. Just in case you (or anyone) don't know, wanting to take discussions private would be another thing that would be considered a red flag.
people can tell im not lying by getting to know me and meeting in public first. I dont have many friends here and I am very lonely.
what would i have to show publicly to prove I am not lying that would not doxx me?
You're conveniently in Tokyo, where the vast majority of people here are not, so meeting you in person is unfortunately out of the question for them. But luckily they can still DM you and chat with you, right?
I don't know what you'd have to show. It's pretty difficult to show evidence of your living circumstances, indeed. That's why I'm simply saying this is cause for concern, hoping that others might be on guard. Your reaction to this, as a seasoned internet security expert, shouldn't be to get worked up.
i just emailed you a video i took just for you of me showing my entire shinjuku apartment. hope this satisfies your needs and if you are in tokyo we could talk about hanging out sometime.
well im autistic and hate when people say I am a liar, I am not a liar like... and if you are not from tokyo why should i care about proving myself, i want friends in tokyo, i am so lonely here, i hate being alone, i wish i had friends.
Yeah. As I said, I know it's impossible to prove. I'm saying people shouldn't take everything on face value, especially if it sounds awesome sauce and so cool and you're a cool hacker and woaaah you live in Japan that's my dreaaaam please be my friend - because what you describe is at least unusual, to say the least.
where do i say i want people who dont live in japan? like yeah sure im down to make online friends but im explicitly LOOKING for friends in TOKYO, japan is so fucking lonely, espically being self employed, i hate being alone so much. Im a people person.
You say that people could just meet you in person if they don't believe you. For people to meet you in person they'd have to be in Japan. That's obviously unrealistic for pretty much everyone here so they're back to having to take your word for it.
If you want to find friends in Tokyo, you're not going to find them on a platform where Japanese people living in Tokyo can probably be counted on one hand. What you will find is people fawning over you.
I tried dating apps, spent hundereds of dollars on them found no one i thought maybe people living in tokyo would be on here, there are a lot of foreigners. For online friends I would show them around my house on call when I trust them. And why should it matter to people im friends with how big my house is, I want genuine friends who likeme for my personality.
It doesn't matter. You brought it up.
when did i say its a palace? its 3 floors, and 3 rooms.
That's a palace in Shinjuku.
You are not helping your case by trying to go off platform btw. That makes you more suspicious.
im new to lemmy and you cant upload photos here properly. holy fuck.
