US chicken companies pioneered restricting sleep to keep birds eating around the clock.

A new study (Li et al., 2026) recommends giving chickens just 2 hours of darkness nightly to maximize the time they spend eating. The study and photo are Chinese.

We know chickens have far better hapiness with 7–8 hours of darkness to sleep.

But they eat more and grow faster when they are sleep deprived.

Ya there's not really a good excuse that doesn't end with im lazy and like the taste. Maybe some dietary requirements or allergies that I'm not aware of I guess.

Its a hard switch but I really should get on it.

Despite what the internet militants tell you, it’s not all or nothing. If every person skipped meat just once a month the impact on global warming would be measurable.

Yeah my goal is to replaceynweekly meal prepa next week with vegan options instead of meat heavy
