Like saying compare your life to those who lived through the black plague, or there’s starving kids in Africa.
As if it’s taboo to shine a light on how utterly shit life is in the US for this generation compared to the previous generation or the one before that, or the current generation in 50+ countries with better mortality, education, and happiness rates than the fucking US.

80+ million dead in two World Wars, 50+ million dead in the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic (most of them young people), and the ten year-long Great Depression. There were 10 recessions lasting more than 12 months between 1895 and 1929, and alcohol was outlawed from 1920-1933.
When they were children, child labor was widespread, as was corporal punishment. Few kids went to school beyond 11 or 12 years old. There was little to no electricity. Women couldn't vote.
