This is some of the most nanny state shit I've ever see.
Oh shit, the government made a rule so that we all together pollute less, NANNY!
Japan has been separating their bottle caps for decades without government intervention.
If you think a bottle cap that doesn't do anything for the customer but helps the manufacturer observer a compliance, isn't nanny bs, then you are in fact brainwashed by the state.
Slow children need nannies.
You can live in your freedom country filled to the brim with hard to clean non-degradable waste. I am happy living in a place where one of the main waste types polluting the environment has been drastically reduced, at practically zero cost. Anyone panicking about his or her freedom can easily tear those caps off btw.
