Sucks that the athlete is getting all the blame when the event organizers are the ones who had the most responsibility to prevent this. They should've disqualified her as soon as they saw the feces running down her leg. It retrospect it's easy for her to see that this was gross and inappropriate, but during the heat of the competition the burden should've been on someone from Hyrox to pull her aside and tell her she is disqualified because she's causing a safety hazard for the other competitors.

Apparently, in her mind this was a Michael Jordan with the flu situation. She has pictures afterwards in a hospital bed getting an IV and bragging about how you have to do what you have to do.

Now all that said, I'm a little sympathetic, as apparently shitting yourself during marathons and the like is not uncommon, but this was some weird crossfit thing where you are indoors and constantly getting down on the floor for various reasons and using provided equipment, so anyone who came after her was wading through her poopies. I think you have to be capable of being very self-centered, at least temporarily, to be a truly elite competitive athlete, but somebody should have thought this one through better.

Well, it's no one's obligation to validate someone, or be friends with them. When you put your entire self-worth in the hands of random people, this is exactly what happens. They treat you like a broken, tainted object.

The key is to pick a path where you are not well known, and don't give a shit about other people and what they have to offer.
