MODERATORS
Every few years I check in on an old message board I was active on between like 1999-2010. It's still there. Gets maybe 1-2 posts per year these days.
Those years line up well with SETI@home?
Isn't SETI dead now? Atleast you can not fetch ans New workunits in boinc.
Seti@home is. SETI itself is still going but not nearly as popular as the screen saver was.

I don't remember them ever using phpBB? Need to check the Wayback Machine later

I discovered that site in 2009 or so, but don't remember opening an account or regularly following it, though I did occasionally find links to it elsewhere.
I've meanwhile checked and it seems they used to use vBulletin, not phpBB.
I see. Yeah I used to read it for roads trivia
