I've only played Hellish Quart flat, and yeah it is ridiculous that way. I'm looking forward to trying it more seriously in VR. Really curious how it will feel when nothing is stopping your arm from moving when the sword stops.
To add to my previous comment, I'm also going to pay close attention to joint health when playing Hellish Quart VR. Putting a lot of speed and power into your arms without something to absorb the energy wears on your joints, kinda similar to how it's really bad to dry fire a bow.
It's worse if you're swinging a sword through thin air due to the extra mass you're accelerating and decelerating, but shadowboxing still wears to a degree. With VR you're getting the adrenaline but no backstop.
Ha yeah, when I first played Skyward Sword on the Wii I wore out my elbow and had to wear a brace for a bit. Had to adjust for safety.
@mnemonicmonkeys@sh.itjust.works @Metostopholes@midwest.social hopefully companies like this will start releasing accessories for the Frame controllers, and hopefully a sword attachment. Or maybe the Quest ones can be adapted.

Edit: or improvise your own with a dowel or pipe covered in a swimming noodle.
Tbh, have an actual rapier and could probably duck tape a controller to it. That would probably result in holes in the walls and a bent sword though
Haha, sounds like a dangerous idea!
I was walking through a big retail store yesterday and happened to see some kids playing with what looked like Minecraft swords, which looked like they were made of foam. Maybe something like that could be modified to have a bit more weight but keep the softness.
Edit: I just searched and it seems you can buy practice foam swords!
