That's what you're saying as a lay person, but imagine being a world-class athlete, in their prime, who's been training for this stuff for decades. Race day shows up, you feel fine at the start, little queesiness, are you gonna let that stop you? She probably trusted a fart to be just a fart, and once that happens... well. Are you gonna run off in shame? Or will you adopt the mindset of "well, the worst already happened, might as well keep going." She's got athlete brain, she wants to win, she's been training for years. I understand it.

I really think that the judges should've stepped in. Indoors? Shared equipment? Judges should've put a stop to that. People are kinda crazy at that high-end level of competition, they want to win at any cost. We just found out that shitting yourself in public was a cost she was willing to pay.
