Wish people would realize they are NOT idiots.
This erodes privacy and allows character assassinations on anyone who wants to be safe and/or private by using those VPN that do not comply. Is your mega ISP really going to stand up for your rights under this? Can you really get a new ISP at the "press of a few buttons"?
You aren't the only one here not understanding how "this doesn't directly affect me" bc you have the technical skills to avoid it. It does affect you, even if only by the chilling effect of it being more difficult to discuss online.
Well, they are idiots, for "as long as men die, liberty will never perish". But that doesn't mean they are harmless, we do need to push back against anything like this, not just allow it to happen because "I can press a few buttons"
