Wellington firefighters douse flames in Thorndon firetruck (www.rnz.co.nz)

A Wellington firetruck has been taken off the road, after its engine caught fire, prompting a response from a fellow crew.

The New Zealand Professional Firefighters Union said the truck was only one of two high-reach heavy aerial-ladder trucks in the capital.

No-one was hurt in the blaze and the fire was extinguished.

A fire truck catching fire would be pretty funny, if it wasn't so important for our safety.

Frazer engineering in lower hutt just posted some photos of a pair of appliances they're sending overseas to the northern territory, meanwhile we're importing units from the UK that don't work.

There's people working in FENZ that just have no business being where they are.
