It's not. It's the same effort to pick one or the other. Choosing the worst one just because is stupid.

The worst option is continuing to change the clocks. Both daylight and standard time are better options with only a slight advantage to standard time over daylight. Choosing not to change the clocks at all is the far more beneficial step. Which time they choose to stay on is a much smaller benefit.

At least it didn't turn into "well we can't agree on which time we want, so we won't stop changing the clocks at all." Which is what happened in Alberta quite a while ago and is absolutely ridiculous. Stop changing the clocks! Either time is better than the flip-flop.
