Well, in fairness, we do need carbs for energy. It's just that we also need protein and fat for longer-term energy and carbs for shorter-term energy. And we need to match input and output calories. And it's complicated, but for the most part you don't need to worry TOO much about it - just make sure you walk and get exercise, which makes up for a whole host of ills.
You can eat zero processed sugar and still get too many carbs in your diet, which is, i think, the important part here. Carbs are not processed sugar, but processed sugar is a carb.
Its correct to say "you should probably eat carbs" but absolutely misguided to say "you NEED to eat sugar; and the children too!"
I agree, just as long as you don't say "You shouldn't eat processed sugar at all" - although I would say it's better to minimize processed sugar unless you need quick energy (i.e. exercise or other manual labour). :)
I totally load myself full of sugary carbs on my heavy cardio and heavy lift days. It makes a huge difference if I slam 40-60 grams of sugar about an hour before my wprkout and sip a sugary Gatorade during it.
This this this. This is exactly how to use carbs. And I'm one of the ones shouting "sugar is [generally] the real enemy" (although not keto because keto is also generally not the right answer).
Keto is how you lose all of your muscle mass. My diet is more or less set for me by my coach/personal trainer. I eat 5 or 6 times per day and I have been losing body fat percentage and gaining lean muscle mass at the same time. It is hella slow though, but seeing incremental progress feels so good.
Sorry... that's nonsense. You don't need carbs to maintain or put on muscle mass.
everything needs balance and too much of anything can be poisonous
Including water, yep :)
its funny because Im not much for eating early in the day and eventually when I do like a contintental type breakfast. later I like to get the more complex stuff and I like high fiber and fat end of day
