I prefer my filler volumes to be more lighthearted. Coming right from a large-scale battle arc, and then jumping into the same thing just in compressed form felt unnecessary to me. The author is falling into that battle shounen trap: when everything is always redlining the high-stakes meter, then nothing is.

Is that what happened? I couldn’t remember the last volume.

Yeah, I don’t want Death March to become like Dragon Hatchling or Reincarnated as a Sword. Too much fighting gets off putting and drags on. More slow paced relaxation is required.

Yes, but it does look like Sara has a dragon tail. And her expression looks to me more disturbed than just sad about the parting. The party is going and Satou is also leaving which would be after the Giant Husk left the capital. Then there are the chains, but the only chains I can think of were the ones chaining the husk's soul in the "astral plane" (for a lack of a better word) and not in the real world.

I could see the cover as a collage of separate things happening, but I don't see why they would make it look like they abandoned Sara.

hmm. Some type of wing-looking frock? That's the best explanation. Either way, that cover is a strange one.

Wouldn’t you be if the one you loved forced a tail on you?

But seriously yeah it’s a bit of a mess, I took it as a collage of the volume. But it could defiantly be clearer. I would have gone for Hikaru and the titan for the cover.
