This is not new. When I was teaching elementary about 20 years ago I was told the same thing. I’ve had to change grades because someone never helped their child but had a big enough mouth to change the principal’s mind about the kid’s grades. After 25 years I burned out badly. I loved the job but hated the useless nonsense that stopped me from actually doing my job.
This has been the end goal of the GOP for at least 40 years now. Defund public schools, send as much money to voucher programs so the "right" kids get proper Christian education on the taxpayer dime, and leave the general public too stupid and media illiterate to resist the propaganda channels that misinform and warp them until they fall right into Trump's lap.
The rank and file Republican may be dumb, but never underestimate the party itself. There are patient and smart actors pulling the strings.
While it's easy to blame the GOP here (and they do deserve it), it's important to note that (from what I understand) this is a nationwide trend. American oligarchs in general don't care about/actively despise education; the GOP is just somehow even worse about it than the competition.
Statistically, things have e deteriorated since kids started using laptops for class work.
You lasted 25 years. Today, they burn out in five. Also, did you read the post, or just the title I wrote?

Five is more typical of what I've read in /r/Teachers. Two is pretty short.
I was intending to show that your snippiness was uncalled for, but given that context, it feels even more out of place.
The other commenter was responding to your post with their own relevant experience- wouldn’t it have been a better interaction to tell them that this post is a little shorter than is standard based on r/teachers and ask them if, in their 25 years of teaching, they had noticed things getting worse or could point to a specific turning point? Failing that, you could have explained what your personal experience is, and then asked how they managed 25 years.
Everyone gets overwhelmed and short sometimes and I’m not trying to be your grandma, but rudeness begets rudeness.
