There’s also Luigi Mangioni to consider. Those McDonald’s employees made public the fact that rewards for turning people in, don’t happen, the majority of the time.

Even if the “crime” is more egregious than picking up $30 blowing in the wind, who would bother?

I’ve not tried to claim one, but the reported info from people who look for people using OSINT to try to claim rewards is that it’s complicated.

Some read “if convicted” as a contingency. “Up to” can be in the wording. Which agrency posted the reward? Is that who you called? Did you talk to someone and get supervisor approval (my favorite) before giving info on someone?

Who does that, by the way? What if they say no, not in the budget any more, and then you decline to give info, now are you guilty of something chargeable?
