Perhaps people in the UK should adopt “/s” to mean sincere? That would completely fuck with everybody else - and strikes me as an incredibly British thing to do.

I think you can have them on even if you're not a learner driver, it's less of a hassle ti change them and in some places they are a sticker that can't be removed without damage
L (or Welsh D) - plates should be covered or removed if the driver is licensed according to the UK’s .gov website.
