No, because 10% of richest people on Earth (majorly Western Bloc, including Europe) are responsible for 50-66% of global emissions.
For example:
Ethiopian is responsible for 0.14 tonnes of CO2 emissions yearly on average.
A Swede on average is responsible for 3.43 tonnes of emissions.
An American is responsible for 13.83 tonnes.

The issue isn't overpopulation, not at all, but that we have a bunch of countries with hyperconsumerist economy, a car in every household, high electricity usage, accessible red meat, air-conditioning etc.
White is about 10% of the population. It doesn't matter much that the 7 billion gone used less than them. 8 billion to 800 million. It feels like it can't help but reduce the world CO2 output significantly
And then the economic damage of losing Asia is unimaginable. You've never seen a depression like that would be. No manufactured goods would be available until Europe and the remains of America bring up industry
