I wonder if there's a technical reason or just lack of neural network training on some communities.

I'm specifically thinking of the nose bridge and cheeks area of people with some Asian relatives in their gene pool. The sunken nose bridge and puffy cheeks appearance is so prevalent that a lot of prescription glasses are sold as "Asian fit" so that it clears the cheeks. My partner is half Laotian and half white/Hispanic, and she needs Asian fit glasses despite not looking particularly Asian.

I'm wondering if their facial recognition software focuses too much on the shape of the middle of the face, which could lead to close Asian relatives, who share a lot of the same genes, to be scanned as the same person as they may have the exact same nose-cheek area shape.
