I don't even know what to say here, if my partner pulled this I'd be serving them that expired milk..
I've fully turned autocorrect off on my phone. Never turned it on on my desktop. It'll underline words it thinks are wrong, but if there are going to be any spelling errors in my texts, they're gonna be 100% organic, dammit. Texting is definitely slower this way, but a lot less frustrating.
I do the same and I gotta say it is a ton better.
But
Most of those typos aren’t even remotely organic. There is absolutely no reason I should hit the wrong key six times in a row when I try to re-write the word correctly, excruciatingly slowly to get it right, yet every other letter is identically correct between iterations.
Phone keyboards are just pure trash, is all. We’ve had decades to get them right and just haven't bothered.
The adaptive tap targets that resize the virtual key (you can’t see this behavior) are infuriating.

Yeah, phone UI/UX is utter garbage.
im the same train. too lazy to capitalize and use apostrophes most of the time, but at least it is authentic
