Absolutely not

But enough to make every invader's lives miserable? Oh hell yes. You only need a few dozen people in Canada yo pull this off and I know we have much,much more than that both in Canada AND US territories...

Combined with deeply intertwined societies, inherently porous border and absolutely no clear signifiers of whether an unknown individual is Canadian or American? Even a very small insurgency will be nighmarishly hard to deal with.

Never mind that it’s not hard to picture there being true sympathizers in the states in real numbers.

I think too many of you confuse your casual interest in military tactics and history as having the sufficient expertise to speculate on war. Nobody is saying there wouldn't be fighting, Im saying Canadians do not understand what fighting would actually mean, and honestly, these kinds of comment threads are great examples of that.

I don't think I'm arguing with that actually...

The point I'm making ISN'T that the blowhards and nationalists are actually who would fight... but that if ANYONE did, and someone would, it would be extraordinarily difficult to control. And frankly, the impact of actual fighting would be out of all proportion to how significant it really is militarily to the United States

You know what a thermobaric weapon is? You ever think about one landing on loved ones you live with; or living across the street from its target?

I don't doubt there's people who will fight back, I just know it isn't you or many if any of the people on this site. The demos skew older, middle-class, STEM employed white cishet men, and the diversity ranges typically still include privileged classes. No Canadian settler alive has experienced war at the end of an imperial weapon like the US military; or any military. So, no, I don't think the people on here who gleefully roleplay as guerilla freedom fighters from their desks really understand what they're talking about.

I love that you literally couldn't read this as anything other than the larp the rest of you engage in.

"Real life isn't Call of Duty," indicated to you that I want to seem knowledgeable about the military, because you couldn't imagine a different perspective; just about sums up the Canadian community on here.
