I used to believe racism in the United States was overstated. Sure, it existed. But it's not widespread. Common.

The amount of shit published about this guy is absolutely insane.
He recently attended the 9/11 memorial ceremony.
He exchanged a brief hug with representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and smiled for 5 seconds.
Immediatly, politicians went wild

He smiled 5 seconds in a 5 hour ceremony and they accuse him of celebrating terrorism.
Here is the video. You can clearly see that he was stoic, he hugged her, then he immediatly went back to being stoic.
At the same 9/11 ceremony, JD Vance and Howard Lutnick laughed and joked.
No one cares.

The US is more racist than I ever imagined.
Racism is the cornerstone of Republican power. its why they are so hostile to anything that threatens racism, like education, and empathy, and moral values.
As President Lyndon Johnson once said.. "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."
Let's not forget that non-white period can be incredibly racist, too. Asian cultures can be very racist as well, even against different Asian cultures, but especially against black, south Asian, middle eastern, central Asian (collectively, brown) folks. Asians often see themselves as"one of the good ones" workout realizating they're in line after the black and brown people.
