You know the ones.. telling us how they're investing in this and that and the other. How Ontario is improving and thriving.

I'll leave my opinion aside to reduce bias, but hey, my comment history is public.

Much love!

It's weird. Gov't ads are a comm channel that can and should be used to inform people what the gov't does. At the same time these ads are not representative of what the gov't does. So it's the same shit when the libs used ads to boost themselves as the cons do now. It's not great.

I agree with all of your points. If it keeps happening no matter the party and no matter the reality, then it's nothing short of a systemic problem.

My problem and why I'm not jumping straight against the ads themselves is that ads or not, these governments rarely represent us. I've been here since 2005 and while the OLP gov'ts have done some material contributions for us, it's always been tinker round the edges, bare minimum shit. The PC gov'ts being actively harmful. So I see the ads issue as a minor symptom that I don't focus on. I need the gov't to represents working people, not corpos - in other words the vast majority, not the minority at the top.

Agreed, I saw the ads as an easy way to spark a bigger conversation around the issues. I agree with your points and its really great to see others from Ontario feel the same.

A place to ask Canadians questions and get answers. The most obvious questions would be about Canada, but you can ask about pretty much anything; news, current events, society, etc

I don't intend this as an AMA format, but can entertain some. Rules:
