No shit it was worse. But if someone says your party is politically worthless election losers and your response is "Oh yeah, well 16 years ago we did everything down to pulling senators out of the hospital to scrape together enough of a majority, and all we got out of it was shaving off the two most egregious methods of predation from the healthcare industry" Sounds like your party is politically worthless and loses elections because of it.
