I live in the Twin Cities Minnesota and my work has me dealing with a lot of people doing this kind of gig work. A lot of the immigrant regulars stopped working during metro surge and some of them just never came back. I hope they found better work but I know at least some were just straight up kidnapped by the Gestapo. It's fucked.
There’s a rugby player called Christ - commentators call him a sound more like Chris and then add a t at the end… “Chrissed” as an approximation.
Bassist for Nirvana's name was Krist, pronounced the same way, basically how I assume the driver's name in the OP was pronounced too.
TIL: There is no such person as Chris Novacelic (sp?) - I’ve always misheard his name.

Kurt Cocaine is what my wife calls him.
