The US EV market is pathetic. Half of all EV sales are just two Tesla models. All the other auto makers are competing for the other half, of a shrinking pie. That pie isn't big enough for Chevy to offer both a small electric SUV and an electric subcompact SUV, that's in a similar price range. The Equinox EV is the better selling model so it makes sense they'd keep that one and ditch the Bolt.

But all the Lemmings complaining about affordable EVs are also full of shit. It's a small, affordable EV, and no one is buying because it doesn't have Car play , but everyone also doesn't want a connected car and wants to drag an old Subaru out of a wrecking yard. $5 gas and people are still buying ICE, then they can post about unaffordability on Lemmy.
This is why car companies avoid social media because what people say they want and what they actually buy is very different.
