Renee Good’s family is suing the Trump administration and several federal officials over her fatal shooting by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer during an operation in Minneapolis in January, her family announced on Thursday.

In two civil lawsuits filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, Good’s family asserts a wrongful death claim against the United States and accuses federal officials and immigration enforcement agents of violating her civil rights, respectively.

White House aide Stephen Miller, former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and her former aide Corey Lewandowski, former Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino, and ICE agent Jonathan Ross, who killed Good, are named as defendants in the second lawsuit.

Their daughter was murdered and they're doing the right thing now.

“Sure we voted to forcibly remove non whites from the country but now that it affected us personally we’re sooooo regretful of our vote.”

Why should we reward them now for only regretting something once they were personally affected? They sure don’t have an issue with it happening to the “others” or they wouldn’t have voted Trump in the first place.

I mentioned in another thread that yes, what happened to Good and Pretti shouldn’t be happening to anyone, but I will not feign sympathy because the people that voted for a policy they didn’t think would affect them, affected them.

Hey Velma, I bet this Cuban mother is flooding with happiness that the Goods had a change of heart about their votes after their own daughter was killed thanks to their votes. https://lemmy.ml/post/53451773

Took em 10 years and countless, unnecessary harm to living beings but yes, now they’re doing the right thing…. For money. Yet the administration is unharmed since, you know, it’s our taxes that’ll be funding theses assholes votes. But yes they’re doing the right thing…. For money

Ok.

Again, what do you think shaming people doing the right thing on Lemmy does beyond soothing yourself?

They’re not doing the right thing. They’re capitalizing off their dead daughters tragedy. They voted to harm people. They never thought it would be their own people. That’s disgusting
