I wondered where some of those incels went after the Reddit exodus. I don't wonder anymore.
One of the first Lemmy threads I actively remember. Was a bunch of the incels celebrating a bunch of men invading a women's only tech job fair.
It kinda set the scene for this place.
I had a similar experience. It was a thread talking about how "willing and consensual" 14 year old girls are around rock stars.
It was fucking disgusting. Honestly that is what set my entire tone for how I operate on this site. I'm not usually this much of an "SJW", but this place fucking needs some of that energy to balance the absolute degeneracy and misogyny that's openly allowed.
Oh yeah.
A lot of Lemmites really need to get called out on their shit.
For so many it's like they never grew out of the "I'm just going to be against everything" teenager phase.
I'm still shocked that the mods at the lemmy.world shitposting community allowed that conversation. The admins should have stepped in honestly.
