No surprise: Imperial core human rights NGOs are a psyop of empire.
A little surprise here, even though aware of the fascist hegemony of the "western" (white aka liberal) countries/institutions, we are also used of seeing groups posing as antifa or against genocides while not really addressing the issue.
This is quite a move and Amnesty is going to have a hard time after that.
it makes you wonder why the soviets didn't or the chinese don't take on this strategy -- having ngo's laundering your foreign interference seems to be MUCH MORE effective given the perceived degree of separation it gives you compared to official state propaganda mouthpieces like rt.
It’s because they want their propaganda—and their censorship—to be out in the open.
Is that an assertion/conclusion or is it written down somewhere?
I’m sure it’s been written about, but I don’t know of any off the top of my head.
China is explicit about what can’t be said, and the structure and mechanics of censorship are public knowledge. Conversely in the West, and especially in the US, there’s a claim of freeze peach and a sprawling, multi-layered, plausibly-deniable system of speech suppression.
