I went to school in the twin cities. My RA in my dorm was a Somali guy whose whole family except his mom had been blown up right in front of him. Like he used a hearing aid cause he was so close. Grew up in Minneapolis. Lovely guy. Wicked smart. Was working at the mall of America and as an RA to afford college. Working towards becoming a medical researcher, which I assume he now is. Showed me a ton of good east African restaurants all over the city, was an amazing runner and cross country team mate. Probably literally saved my life one night. There's people causing murder and mayhem but it's not the Somali immigrants. FTD.
