.ML users left in shambles.

You know, if they could still access lemmy in general.

[-] Azazel@lemmy.ml 42 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

Real. I joined it cuz it said it was FOSS focused and run by the creators of Lemmy which I thought was neat. Did not realize it was a tankie cesspool. I’m now banned from a good portion of it for “Nazi apologia” because I said calling Ukraine Nazis was Russian propaganda

[-] CobraCommander@quokk.au 14 points 14 hours ago

It’s just Ukraine, no “the” in front.

[-] Azazel@lemmy.ml 8 points 13 hours ago

Right thanks for the reminder

[-] dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works -4 points 9 hours ago

Sounds like something the Russia might say... 🧐

[-] CrimeIsLegalNow@ani.social 27 points 16 hours ago

Just jump instances. I might have my reservations about how the aversion to monetization means a lot instances are unstable or slow with no real incentives or even funding to improve it but there's certainly something to be said for decentralization.

[-] stringere@sh.itjust.works 21 points 16 hours ago

I'm glad the instance I chose based on URL ended up being pretty good because sh.itjust.works.

[-] Jumi@lemmy.world 7 points 13 hours ago

I choose lemmy.world because it was top of the list and I had no idea of anything when I came over from Reddit back then

[-] Noel_Skum@sh.itjust.works 7 points 15 hours ago

Some people reckon we’re a Nazi instance… shrug emoji.

I’m not sure why - but have read it a few times. If someone in the know could clue me in if there is actually some back lore to the claim I’d appreciate that.

[-] late_pessimistic@slrpnk.net 3 points 4 hours ago

I wouldn't think too much into this claim unless there is evidence

[-] Noel_Skum@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 hours ago

Just wondered why anybody would think such a thing…

[-] stringere@sh.itjust.works 4 points 14 hours ago
[-] Noel_Skum@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 hours ago

I’ve just read it in passing more than once… but some people like to throw buzz words around and generalise so that could be the case here.

[-] FunStuffIsFun@eviltoast.org 0 points 8 hours ago

Y'all have the best space industry community.

[-] FunStuffIsFun@eviltoast.org 1 points 8 hours ago

You're welcome to join the toast gang. We don't have much, but we have an awesome logo and a cool name.

[-] 5318008@lemmy.ml 11 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago)

I have a confession:

When I joined, I thought ML was for Machine Learning.

[-] late_pessimistic@slrpnk.net 1 points 4 hours ago

I thought ML is just two letters from Lemmy and it sounds nice

[-] Azazel@lemmy.ml 4 points 13 hours ago
[-] Noel_Skum@sh.itjust.works 3 points 15 hours ago

I initially thought .ml was literally the TLD for the nation of Mali - so was super confused.

[-] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 8 points 15 hours ago

I mean, it is. But it's one of the TLDs that allows wider use.

Only a few national TLDs require being related to the country, or at least being located in the country.

[-] sit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 16 hours ago

You are the first seemingly sane person from .ml I’ve seen

[-] Wfh@lemmy.zip 9 points 16 hours ago

When I first joined Lemmy 3.5 years ago I almost joined .ml because it was the dev's instance. I'm glad I chose .ee instead.

[-] Azazel@lemmy.ml 3 points 13 hours ago

Thanks… unfortunately I’m well aware that’s a low bar lmao

[-] NonconfrontationaI@lemmy.ml 7 points 17 hours ago

Who? Traffic seems fine to me.

[-] Azazel@lemmy.ml 15 points 16 hours ago

You may be new enough not to have encountered this yet but our instance has a well earned reputation of being Soviet boot lickers. Be careful on .ml meme subs and stuff, you’ll catch a permaban for saying anything pro Ukraine or in any way interpretable as anti Russia

[-] Gerudo@lemmy.zip 9 points 15 hours ago

Oh...they know exactly what .ml is

[-] Godric@lemmy.world -4 points 7 hours ago
[-] NonconfrontationaI@lemmy.ml 2 points 6 hours ago

Jesus do you have a goldfish brain? We interact all the time lol.

I got locked out of my OG account.

[-] Godric@lemmy.world -3 points 6 hours ago

Do we? You might be overestimating your impact as a person, or I maybe I only pay attention to the usernames of people who make a big positive difference on my flavor of the fediverse!

All the same, brand new accounts are fishy as fuck, especially with 0 posts. Try creating, not just critiquing!
