I bought a CD player and some CDs and it’s got me right back into treating music as an activity rather than background noise. No streaming service is ever going to get my money again!
One of the things you get from a CD that you don't get from a generated spotify playlist, is that albums (at least back in the day, or perhaps at least good ones) order their songs in a specific order so that playing from the start through to the end is an experience.
I tried to find my old CD collection a few years back and couldn't. I had a whole folder full of CDs, but the only thing I could find was the empty cases 🙁
Preaching to the choir… I’ve always been an album listener. Playlists (and the associated loudness war) are a crime!
And I can relate… I’ve only managed to find 2 of my 50 or so CD collection. I know most of them are long gone but I could’ve sworn I’d kept more than 2!
