Here was what I would say, a major reason Trump agreed to start the Iran War was to use them up so he couldn't be pressured into giving them to Ukraine.

If this sounds like a conspiracy, sure that is what I think this is, a sloppy conspiracy/loose deal and it worked out perfectly for them.

Now Trump, Putin and Netanyahu can start World War 3 without worrying about missile interceptors gumming up the march to war and giving the space to negotiate peace or leaving Putin no leverage because he broke the spine of his military in Ukraine and now must desperately rely on the threat of nuclear weapons to retain power over Ukraine/Europe...
