What's everyone's favorite non-American weather website?
I use an app called Weawow and you can change the source of the weather to alternatives.
The weather has been so fucked lately it's really hard to compare them. I see a spread of of over 10 degree differences between open meteo, Google, AccuWeather, and wunderground.
Tomorrow AccuWeather says 78, OpenMeteo says 81, and Google says 74.
I will say open source apps default to OpenMeteo, im not sure how to compare what a site predicts vs actual weather.
that's kind of tough because the forecast changes at least every day. which forecast do you measure off of? the one that morning? the one the day before? the one a week before? ~all~ ~of~ ~them?~ wunderground has a historical weather tab you can at least get the actual data from but if i'm getting that invested i'm setting up a local weather station.
All of those are basically front-ends for the National Weather Service and other mostly(?) public institutions that have actual weather satellites and generate the actual data.
I'm a fan of Windy because it lets you choose and compare/contrast forecast models. You can even compare which model has been more accurate for your location in particular.
eeee thank you i am a data geek that looks so neat
At first if look at the day of. On the day of prediction how do the high and lows compare against the predicted values for that day. It's kind of a check, how much can I trust what they say. One store is saying I need to prep for rain, another that it'll be clear, they aren't usually that extreme but it's come close.
And I've considered getting a weather station and doing my own comparison since some stations arent very close.
Should be obvious but it’s not the website nor even the forecast, but they all depend on having sufficient data
i have preferred wunderground for a while, but they are not what they were before they got bought out. also they're based in San Francisco.
i've been looking for a new weatherwebsite for like a decade now. i have not looked very hard, but it's a back burner project
