House Judiciary Committee Democrats on Monday released an unsigned staff report laying out what they call “the case against Donald Trump emerging in the Epstein Files and DOJ’s desperate efforts to cover it up,” with those Democrats now calling for an independent special counsel to investigate the president as well as what they describe as Attorney General Todd Blanche’s conflicts of interest and the Justice Department’s reluctance to share relevant evidence with state and foreign law enforcement.

“The women who survived Epstein deserve to be heard,” the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., said in a statement. “Congress must have the complete files required by law, and an independent special counsel must investigate Epstein’s co-conspirators and DOJ’s cover-up and ensure that state and foreign prosecutors have the evidence they need to pursue justice.”

The more than 50-page report alleges that Trump was “an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of young women in the mid-to-late 1990s.” Although it also contains at least one entirely new allegation against the president, it provides no direct evidence other than the woman’s own conversations with Judiciary Committee staff.

He raped children, but the cult doesn't care. They like rapding children as evidenced by how many Republicans and church people keep getting caught raping children.

Trump was “an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of young women in the mid-to-late 1990s.”

And nobody is surprised in the slightest. Grabbing them by the pussy doesn't mean restricting yourself to adult pussy.

Grabbing them by the pussy doesn't mean restricting yourself to adult pussy.

Same vibe as the dudes who make a huge deal about girls turning 18. They’re really just saying “I would definitely go younger if I wasn’t afraid of getting shanked in prison.”

[-] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 1 points 11 hours ago

I only ever said that about the Olsen Twins (and I'm a year older than them)

[-] voxthefox@lemmy.blahaj.zone 27 points 17 hours ago

Its fucked that they refer to them as "young women" and not children like a good number of them were.

[-] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 16 hours ago

I don't know how common it is, but while growing up, I often heard from adults that a girl becomes a woman with her first period.

[-] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 2 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

There are also pretty big events in many cultures for turning 15/16 (like the quinceañera) that generally map to a similar "becoming a woman" type of thing.

Not the same as the general timeframe for a first period, but also not the same as 18 in the US where Epstein is most relevant.

Gonna reproduce a recent comment of mine here, since a lot of people still haven’t seen this info, re: Ivanka:

I thought the photos and the clip where she and her father were asked what they had in common, (she said ‘golf’ and he said ‘I was going to say sex’) were bad, but this one is clearer than even that.

She’s a monstrous person in her own right, but he made her that way. So sad, because she was a child once, and was not allowed to be one. It’s tragic, no matter what she is now.

I also forgot about the fact that when she was 17, she made him promise not to date anyone younger than her (again, from his own mouth). First, they both also publicly talked about that, and second, how is that a normal thing to talk about with your father as a 17 year old girl?!?

Yeah, we all know what he is and what he’s done. She’s a victim. She’s also a monster, as she was raised to be.

There’s a reason he likes all his concubines to look like his daughter. It’s the same reason his Epstein victims said he wanted them to wear a blonde wig so they looked like his daughter. He’s not just a paedophile, but an incestuous one at that. Absolutely the worst of humanity in every possible way.

e: sorry, I wanted to link the video this was in response to, but it’s been deleted. It was an interview where Ivanka was giving a reporter a tour of her teenaged bedroom (she must have been early 20s) and she visibly changed her entire demeanour when talking about her bed. It’s so obvious and tragic.
Perhaps someone else will have better search luck than me.

[-] ChunkMcHorkle@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago

No, I believe you. Unfortunately the even best search skills probably won't get it back.

A few months ago I went searching for a circa 2016 video I clearly remembered of Melania talking about her escort days and referring to it as "doing business," a video that was full of first-person lingo pertaining to sex work, only to find that it and almost everything from that time period, along with almost all of her earliest interviews, have been scrubbed entirely -- not just from YouTube but from the internet.

They have also released files on the DoJ Epstein site only to quickly yank them back.

I have no doubt whatsoever that the video you refer to has also been quietly scrubbed. I remember it, and so do others, not least because a number of people find it creepy as fuck. "Her entire demeanor changed" when she was up in that bedroom is a good way of putting it.

Dude openly bragged about walking into the dressing rooms at Miss Teen USA or whatever pageant he used to sponsor

[-] daannii@lemmy.world 7 points 16 hours ago

I doubt Trump's sex trafficking work ever stopped. If it did, it was just passed to someone else to manage because he got too busy playing golf and the dementia.

No one was arrested except one woman and his "dead" competition/partner.

Trump flew around in the lolita express jet during all of his presidential campaigns. I mean, common.

It never stopped. It's still happening. Do people really think it was only Epstein's island, ranch, and ny apartment? Only Epstein ?

There are already documents in the Epstein files saying there is another location in Ohio.

And mention of another man running a location who fits the description of Banon. (In Detroit?).

And that's just the U.S. I guarantee sex work was running out of mara lago .

From a purely strategic position, I would guess another location in Tijuana near California or Mexico just south of Texas.

Somewhere easy for U.S citizens to get to. But away from inquisitive eyes. Somewhere easy to pay off the local LE.

the thing is. Until the files get released, we can only speculate. But the fact that they won't is evidence to me that such operations are still occurring involving known people . Or at the very least were still occuring until very recently. Like the last 5 years.

[-] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 4 points 14 hours ago

And mention of another man running a location who fits the description of Banon.

The same Steve Bannon who had a vat of hydrochloric acid behind a locked door in the house where he held sex parties alleged to have included minors? That Steve Bannon?

It never stopped. It's still happening. Do people really think it was only Epstein's island, ranch, and ny apartment? Only Epstein ?

Heard it through the grapevine that Hilton Head Island is a hub for it too. There's a golf tournament there every year where a bunch of giant yachts roll in. Apparently during that week a bunch of new faces (young faces, with broken English) are seen around town, who promptly disappear when the yachts roll away.

Haven't heard much more than that, but it's safe to assume that if the local PD is aware of it, they don't give a fuck cause their chief is probably smoking cigars with the yacht owners.

The Mercer compound in Long Island is probably also worth looking into...

I guarantee sex work was running out of mara lago

That's not even theoretical, it was Maxwell's favored poaching grounds.

[-] daannii@lemmy.world 5 points 14 hours ago

Yep. That Steve Banon.

It's hard to find the specific documents I'm referring to, but if my memory serves me, there was a description of drugs running through the house. And speculation they were being manufactured there. And women and very young women sex workers.

I believe the document was a police report. Or FBI report. It described reports by neighbors. Which is where the description of a man matching Steve Banon was.

Unfortunately I can't easily locate it. I may have the city wrong, maybe not. but when I search "Epstein files Detroit" , all I get are results for an Epstein exibit in Detroit. If I come across the documents again, I'll post a link or screen shot of them.

I remember other people commenting that it sounded like a description of Banon. And that the timeline fit with whatever he was going during those years.

This report was from a while back. Maybe early 2000s. I cant recall for sure but I don't think it was recent.

It's shitty that it's so hard to navigate those files.

I had an idea when they came out, to create a community effort to organize and tag files with dates, type of document (police report, interview, internal FBI documents, email, etc). Who was corresponding or the author. Keywords. Like locations mentioned. Notable names. And of course the file number. And if other files were referenced or connected.

Could be done pretty easy with spreadsheets. And then you could make a fairly simple search engine to navigate the meta data assigned to each file.

Assign volunteers 10 documents at a time. Have a few trustworthy leads that compile the Excel sheets. Keep backups on external drives.

Would also help find all the duplicate files.

The sheer volume though requires a huge number of volunteers.

Assigned files need tracked to specific users (can assign IDs) so that if we get a troll or bot or someone intentionally fucking up the list, we can pull all of their assigned file data.

And have a few quality checkers pull random files from users to check for accuracy. Provide feedback and identify bad actors.

I used to work in insurance so I'm pretty sure I have an effecient and quality oriented approach. But again. The sheer number of volunteers needed to do this work is high.

Also need people to review files with high similarity of tag data to see if duplicate and verify.

Some of this could potentially be pre-reviewed with automated functions.

[-] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 3 points 13 hours ago

Yeah, now that modern corpo search engines curate everything we see online, open-source data hoarding is going to be more and more important.

Building a tailored search index is a good idea though, even if it's just a spreadsheet. I'm sure we've got some SQL wizards on the fediverse though.

But yeah, it would be a team effort. An enormous project with the sheer number of files there are. Might be a use case for some automation, with human review of course. Even just a macro or something.

But also the required storage space, network infrastructure, etc.... It's a big task...

[-] daannii@lemmy.world 2 points 7 hours ago

Yeah it's definitely a big project but mostly just because of the number of files. And data storage.

And organizing the volunteers. You need more than one person on top. But due to the risk of bad actors infiltrating and deleting stuff, it also has to be done with redundant centralized collections.

For the few near the top, it's going to almost be a full time job just to manage.

Plus It's just too risky to have one person in charge. They could get hacked or something. And I'm certain once it gets traction the data set and users would be targeted.

I've already broken it down the main steps. It's not that complex. Just need to develop guides and definitely consider some macros. Figure out workflows and security.

At the insurance company I worked in, the automated system first identified what type of human intervention was needed. For instance if the claim was for rental equipment, or a long term hospital stay , etc. And first just identified what it was. Then operators who specialized in those types of claims did them. Or would just work that type for the whole day. Then a different kind the next day.

It just helps you sift through things faster if you are doing one type at a time.

I'm not wholly against local machine learning algorithms going through the data. But I just think humans can do a better job. We see things and notice patterns better because we understand context. But maybe these automated services could be used to at least identify if the file is an email or interview or the format.

Running something like that would require machines.

Maybe putting this project idea out there will help inspire someone to make this happen. Someone with a lot more resources than I have.

This is something we (online community volunteers) could do.

[-] Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world 3 points 14 hours ago

And that’s just the U.S. I guarantee sex work was running out of mara lago

We need to keep referring to it as Ped-o-Lago

[-] Mulligrubs@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago

Epstein also had a ranch in New Mexico, "Zorro Ranch".

I doubt it's restricted to the USA, we know the UK royal family is also neck deep.
