House Judiciary Committee Democrats on Monday released an unsigned staff report laying out what they call “the case against Donald Trump emerging in the Epstein Files and DOJ’s desperate efforts to cover it up,” with those Democrats now calling for an independent special counsel to investigate the president as well as what they describe as Attorney General Todd Blanche’s conflicts of interest and the Justice Department’s reluctance to share relevant evidence with state and foreign law enforcement.

“The women who survived Epstein deserve to be heard,” the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., said in a statement. “Congress must have the complete files required by law, and an independent special counsel must investigate Epstein’s co-conspirators and DOJ’s cover-up and ensure that state and foreign prosecutors have the evidence they need to pursue justice.”

The more than 50-page report alleges that Trump was “an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of young women in the mid-to-late 1990s.” Although it also contains at least one entirely new allegation against the president, it provides no direct evidence other than the woman’s own conversations with Judiciary Committee staff.

He raped children, but the cult doesn't care. They like rapding children as evidenced by how many Republicans and church people keep getting caught raping children.

*Edit: fixed a typo.

I always thought GOP was Guardians of Pedophiles, but yours works too.

Pedophile Queen, judging by his speeches lately.

I think he's channeling Linsey Graham lately, the notorious self-loathing closet-case.

Everyone including the maga folks know, they just don’t care. They may lie and say “it’s a hoax” but I know even the red cap wearing maga people know trump harmed children but they will say “ the means justify the ends” to themselves. They just don’t care and are heartless and spineless

[-] Sunflier@lemmy.world 5 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

they will say “ the means justify the ends” to themselves.

Its more important to them to kill the gays/trannies because they are a risk to children than it is to hold actual pedophiles accountable.

It's okay that there is pedophilia. Just so long as its cis, straight, and white pedophilia.

The same group who protested, harassed and tormented drag queens for being groomers...yet are perfectly cool with the orange turd being a well documented kid diddler

They also know that he will face zero consequences. Our "Justice" system doesn't do that anymore.

Does anybody remember the trend of "dead baby jokes" in the mid to late 90's?

"What's the difference between a cheeseburger and a dead baby? I dont fuck a cheeseburger before i eat it."

Kinda wondering if all this epstein stuff might have a role in it somehow. Like, these were things that happened on the island and these "jokes" were a way to openly brag about it or something. Or maybe my small hick hometown was just really messed up.

I learned a shitload of seriously tasteless jokes in the 70s and 80s - more often than not from comedy shows on the radio, even. And well, they were funny back then. Then they weren't. Times change.

[-] mrmisses@lemmy.world 3 points 12 hours ago

Before the Internet jokes that were supposed to "shock" the audience hit a lot different.

I think you are reading into things a bit, though that's not to say that some utterly heinous shit didn't happen on the island, just that dark humour isn't a new thing and that just happened to be the trend at the time.

I grew up in a very rural area and what passed for comedy there usually was....very suboptimal, I'd say. At least before we started hearing tapes/records of the comedy giants (Steve Martin, Carlin, Murphy, Pryor, etc.) and lots of people trying to recount those routines to each other.

I seem to remember there were tasteless joke books going around in the 80s, and they definitely included dead baby jokes.

After searching a bit, it seems the jokes go back to at least the 1960s...

Trump was “an active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of young women in the mid-to-late 1990s.”

And nobody is surprised in the slightest. Grabbing them by the pussy doesn't mean restricting yourself to adult pussy.

[-] Carl@anarchist.nexus 35 points 17 hours ago

Grabbing them by the pussy doesn't mean restricting yourself to adult pussy.

Same vibe as the dudes who make a huge deal about girls turning 18. They’re really just saying “I would definitely go younger if I wasn’t afraid of getting shanked in prison.”

Its fucked that they refer to them as "young women" and not children like a good number of them were.

Gonna reproduce a recent comment of mine here, since a lot of people still haven’t seen this info, re: Ivanka:

I thought the photos and the clip where she and her father were asked what they had in common, (she said ‘golf’ and he said ‘I was going to say sex’) were bad, but this one is clearer than even that.

She’s a monstrous person in her own right, but he made her that way. So sad, because she was a child once, and was not allowed to be one. It’s tragic, no matter what she is now.

I also forgot about the fact that when she was 17, she made him promise not to date anyone younger than her (again, from his own mouth). First, they both also publicly talked about that, and second, how is that a normal thing to talk about with your father as a 17 year old girl?!?

Yeah, we all know what he is and what he’s done. She’s a victim. She’s also a monster, as she was raised to be.

There’s a reason he likes all his concubines to look like his daughter. It’s the same reason his Epstein victims said he wanted them to wear a blonde wig so they looked like his daughter. He’s not just a paedophile, but an incestuous one at that. Absolutely the worst of humanity in every possible way.

e: sorry, I wanted to link the video this was in response to, but it’s been deleted. It was an interview where Ivanka was giving a reporter a tour of her teenaged bedroom (she must have been early 20s) and she visibly changed her entire demeanour when talking about her bed. It’s so obvious and tragic.
Perhaps someone else will have better search luck than me.

[-] ChunkMcHorkle@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

No, I believe you. Unfortunately the even best search skills probably won't get it back.

A few months ago I went searching for a circa 2016 video I clearly remembered of Melania talking about her escort days and referring to it as "doing business," a video that was full of first-person lingo pertaining to sex work, only to find that it and almost everything from that time period, along with almost all of her earliest interviews, have been scrubbed entirely -- not just from YouTube but from the internet.

They have also released files on the DoJ Epstein site only to quickly yank them back.

I have no doubt whatsoever that the video you refer to has also been quietly scrubbed. I remember it, and so do others, not least because a number of people find it creepy as fuck. "Her entire demeanor changed" when she was up in that bedroom is a good way of putting it.

Conservatives are biologically unable to experience empathy. Without empathy, it is impossible to develop deep, meaningful connections with others, including family. This is why conservative relationships always seem so shallow. This is also why conservatives so easily support rape, child abuse or child abandonment.

It is simply not possible to hold conservative values and be empathetic simultaneously. That's why they condemn empathy by calling it "woke", evil or sinful.

It is never safe for a member of a vulnerable group, especially a child, to be left alone with a conservative.

It is neither moral nor safe to keep a relationship with a conservative. Disown them all. Normalizing conservatives is normalizing bigots. Conservatives are not normal and should be excluded from modern daily life.

It's "alleged" until confirmed by a tribunal. Otherwise it's libel and you're getting multimillion dollar lawsuits against them.

[-] turmacar@lemmy.world 9 points 16 hours ago

His crimes/actions are alleged. That he's "involved in the Epstein Files" is not.

[-] Sunflier@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago

The files can't be sued. The publisher can be.

Cause a jury hasn't found him guilty in an official court proceeding. The headline publication doesn't want to be sued for liable.

[-] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 3 points 11 hours ago

Which isn’t a bad thing. There’s a process. The problem here is not that a process failed. It’s that it wasn’t followed at all.

He's attached himself to Nicki minaj and kid rock. They're pedophile likers, they're not being secretive about their pedophile ness. its open, and everyone in the US is okay with it, or okay enough with it, to solely bitch online about it.
