Does anybody remember the trend of "dead baby jokes" in the mid to late 90's?
"What's the difference between a cheeseburger and a dead baby? I dont fuck a cheeseburger before i eat it."
Kinda wondering if all this epstein stuff might have a role in it somehow. Like, these were things that happened on the island and these "jokes" were a way to openly brag about it or something. Or maybe my small hick hometown was just really messed up.
I think you are reading into things a bit, though that's not to say that some utterly heinous shit didn't happen on the island, just that dark humour isn't a new thing and that just happened to be the trend at the time.
That's probably what's happening. Idk why but reading about the epstein shit again, one person asking "can we get their parents in the room next time to see if they suck harder" it just reminded me of those dead baby jokes.
I learned a shitload of seriously tasteless jokes in the 70s and 80s - more often than not from comedy shows on the radio, even. And well, they were funny back then. Then they weren't. Times change.
Before the Internet jokes that were supposed to "shock" the audience hit a lot different.
They're still funny.
Not as funny as 10 dead babies stuck on a pike.
Only thing funnier than that is 11 dead babies stuck on a pike.
I grew up in a very rural area and what passed for comedy there usually was....very suboptimal, I'd say. At least before we started hearing tapes/records of the comedy giants (Steve Martin, Carlin, Murphy, Pryor, etc.) and lots of people trying to recount those routines to each other.
I seem to remember there were tasteless joke books going around in the 80s, and they definitely included dead baby jokes.
After searching a bit, it seems the jokes go back to at least the 1960s...
Amazingly I've never heard this joke. Congrats, it's very tasteless
