I've never understood the stereotype that Americans idolize a bunch of old white guys from the 1700s.
Most people I know don't give a single shit about them, and the ones that do are very vocal about their dislike of them.
It's pretty widely accepted that they were all garbage human beings by today's standards.
If you mean Republicans idolizing them but only in specific circumstances that support bigoted worldviews, then sure.

What, because we haven't torn down a massive stone monument from 1941? The vast majority of us weren't even born when it was completed. Are you going to condemn Chinese people for not blowing up the Terracotta Army?
Remind me, do Germans have a national memorial park for Hitler?

That’s the problem I’m referring to.
Hitler sort of ruined Germany. As in, the country was literally in ruins at the end of his reign.
I would say idolizing pedophiles and rapists leads to moral ruin as well for the country, looking at current state of things in US.
