It has been quite an eye-opener to realise that all the „haha all the coding I do is copying and pasting from Stack Overflow“ wasn’t just memes. Glazers are always like „it’s no different from copy and pasting like everyone does“ and I’m just like… people were doing that? That explains so much about the crap I reviewed.
It's the Pareto principle in full effect, or the 1% rule. Only a fraction (sometimes a very small fraction) of any given population actually creates or iterates in a meaningful way. Most people are just copying their work, following along without understanding.
For real!! These people where sloping before LLMs ever even existed.
