Or just prison. She strangled her kids one by one, there is no place for such people in society and mental health is no excuse
Reminder that the guy who beheaded an innocent random person on a bus in Winnipeg is currently walking free among us and they could stop taking their medication again any day should they choose to
Tbh these people should just take accountability and kill themselves so the rest of us don't have to waste energy on them
I had no idea about this case, but saw it everywhere. I finally saw a video about this woman, and it was very sympathetic towards her.
The way it was portrayed in the video, she desperately tried to seek help for months and was repeatedly dismissed by the healthcare system and put on increasingly powerful psychotics.
One Dr, cold cut her from one of the drugs which caused massive withdrawal issues which lead to other psychotic problems.
Considering both the father of the children, the her former mother-in-law profess her innocence (at least according to the video) is telling.
Someone below said this case is a psyop...if it is, it is merely to cover up the massive shortcomings in the healthcare system. Her Drs should be held accountable for not listening to her symtpoms, the pharma industry should be held accountable.
Again, this all predicated on a video I saw a while back, so who knows if it is true. But I have a very different view point than the majority of comments here.
Yeah in a nutshell, you're right in these details. Obviously a lot more to it but a portion of this case is about the failure - on a wider scale than just this woman - of the healthcare system and the lack of understanding around women's health. Unfortunately, as happens on the internet, there's little room for nuance. As soon as someone mentions this they can be assumed to be defending the actions of Clancy.
It's possible to believe that Clancy did the wrong thing (duh) and recognize the failure of the health system and the bigger discussion that this brings up around conditions that aren't recognized enough even by professionals.
It's an emotive topic, as it should be, so a lot of people just aren't able to have logical discussions around it. It's so bloody sad and I think the discussions it evokes, when logical, are extremely important in reducing the risks of these kinds of cases (or similar).
Institutions are largely demonized, but they should still exist for people like this.
I mean, they do still exist, but they aren't really used like this anymore.
