I'm here from Reddit. They banned me for absolutely no reason. That's frustrating. How works Lemmy ?

The .ml folks are (sort of) communist, strictly pro-Putin and pro-China… it’s very weird. They argue in a completely fact-free fashion; sometimes i wonder whether they are parodists or extraterrestrials. I sometimes get into lengthy, absurdist discussions with them, THEN I discover they are from .ml, and THEN I block them. Quite amusing in its own way, but you need to be able to handle them, I like to interact with them early in the morning when I’m enjoying my first coffee.

I've been on Lemmy since the API blackout 3+ years ago and have never seen this. I wonder if my instance blocks them?

I'm from .ml and I can assure you I am perfectly sane

Why did you stay on ml if you're sane?

I signed up when it was the main instance, and could never be bothered to migrate since. Plus, not seeing curse words is actually quite nice (.ml censors them)

Why isn't he like the fanatics wanting to block opinions they don't like? How weird

[-] MaxLemminist@lemmy.ml 1 points 22 hours ago

yes, can't have other opinions, they will decide for you

A lot of instances do. They're usually blocklisted due to trolling or exclusionary/supremacist posting.
