Republicans routed as Democrats gain powerful new leverage over Trump for remainder of his presidency

Democrats have regained control of the US Senate, routing Republicans nationwide with historic victories that will give them powerful new leverage over Donald Trump for the remainder of his presidency.

Democrats will soon have the ability to hold up not just Trump’s legislative agenda, but also any appointments he makes to his cabinet or the federal judiciary – including the supreme court, where conservatives have a 6-3 majority.

As a non-American I would like to know the opinion of some Americans. How possible do you think impeachment is? There is not a need for many Republicans who want to distance themselves from Trump's toxic legacy and there are plenty of reasons to choose.
Also if making Vance look more than likely ridiculous is a better option than keeping Trump burning any possibility of the Republicans in the next presidential elections

I don't think there's much of a chance that Trump will be removed from office. However, there is a possibility that some of his cabinet might. Hegseth comes to mind, in particular. In fact, he might not even last to the end of the current congressional term. There are some pretty damning quotes about him from GOP senators in this piece from The Hill

Kash Patel is another that could be gone. Like Hegseth, he was never qualified for the job and has been an embarrassment to the country. His abuse of public resources for personal ends could be sufficient grounds for removal.

As for Trump himself, the only hope for removal is to get a bunch of Republicans on board. I think the most likely path to that is to make a lot of noise about the Epstein files and Trump's place in them. If that happens, then there's an outside chance.

Impeachment is somewhat likely, removal from office is not. They would need 2/3 majority vote in the senate to have him removed. That said they probably will not impeach him because there is really no point.

Yeah, there's almost a benefit to letting him stew for the next two years, unraveling his web and undoing some of his shit while he just watches, powerless to stop it. That's, at least, what I hope to see.
