The last time? Dems didn’t have control of all three branches like republicans just did.

Obama had both the house and senate when he became president, and he did exactly NOTHING with it. So the advantage was lost.

Sure.. I mean, other than “some of the most significant domestic legislation in modern U.S. history”, like -

  • The Affordable Care Act (ACA / "Obamacare"): A comprehensive healthcare reform law that expanded Medicaid, created health insurance marketplaces, and prohibited insurance companies from denying coverage for pre-existing conditions.

  • The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA): An $831 billion economic stimulus package passed in response to the Great Recession, aimed at saving and creating jobs, investing in infrastructure, and providing tax relief.

  • The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act: A massive overhaul of financial regulation designed to prevent another financial crisis, which included the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

  • The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009: The first bill Obama signed into law, which loosened the statute of limitations for filing equal-pay lawsuits regarding wage discrimination.

  • The Credit CARD Act of 2009: Fair lending legislation that established fairer practices for credit card companies, such as restricting arbitrary interest rate hikes and hidden fees.

  • The Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act: Legislation granting the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) the authority to regulate tobacco products.

  • SCHIP Reauthorization: An expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program to provide health coverage to millions of additional children from low-income families.

  • Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act of 2010: A landmark civil rights law allowing gay, lesbian, and bisexual Americans to serve openly in the United States Armed Forces.

  • The New START Treaty: A bipartisan nuclear arms reduction treaty ratified with Russia to reduce the number of strategic nuclear missile launchers.

The Affordable Care Act

Did not result in healthcare for all, and was based on a concept designed by Mitt Romney. It also makes so more people join the program, saving cost for the public budgets, so in a way it's also a tax on the poor. Not helping the economic balance much.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

Helping the economy is also in the interest of wall street.

Wall Street reform to prevent a financial crisis happening.

Again is in everyones interest. That is in no way contrary to the interest of the 1% or Wall Street, despite their claims that any regulation is bad.

OK I never said they are equally bad, Republicans are clearly worse. What I'm saying is that Democrats as a party still work for Wall Street, and then throw some crumbs to the people, and protect rights of minorities and environment more.

So clearly the Democrats are better, but they are still very right wing by European standards. You could say just left of fascism.
If we take Germany as an example the AfD is as bad as the Republicans, And German traditional right wing parties are much like the Democrats.
