“I’ve made clear from the very beginning that our top priority is going to be to drive down the high cost of living,” the House minority leader said on Fox News Sunday.

LOL!

People can say whatever they want on polls.

Swing voters don't care about Democracy and when swing voters say they care about Democracy it doesn't count because swing voters say things!

Fucking hilarious! That's some serious weapons grade MAGA thinking right there!

Look bud, if you've got anything to back up that the election was won only on the economy, I'm all eyes here. Back your feels with some actual facts MAGAat.

How is this hilarious? It's literally just pointing out that there is a difference between saying you care about something, and looking at the data of what actually changes votes.

Democracy has been under attack for decades. Swing voters did not care until it drove up gas prices.

Do you not remember that Trump got re-elected after being impeached, enacting numerous anti-democratic policies, and generally trashing democratic norms in the campaign? Voters still voted for him because he said he would bring down gas prices.

CNBC polling backed that up, they found that 9/10 voters cited the economy as their top concern, and one of the major differences between last election and this election was that last election a plurality trusted Republicans with the economy and this election a plurality trusted Democrats. What would actually answer the question is seeing what the top concern was amongst people who voted Republican last time and Democrat this time, or those who voted Republican last time but stayed home this time.

Wow, you're really bad at this.

Let's take a look at your source, which btw, doesn't show any of the raw data which is always disappointing but onwards regardless.

Nearly nine out of 10 voters in the CNBC Voter Poll said the cost of living was a crucial or major factor in their vote for Congress.

Cool, economy is a major factor and even I stated in my post that it was a major driver and supports your original argument that the election was driven by worries about the economy. Cool, common ground.

The CNBC Voter Poll found nearly three out of every four people said the war was a crucial or major factor in their vote for Congress.

....wait that's not the economy...

About three out of five voters said they disapproved of how Immigration and Customs Enforcement handled its job and that the Trump administration had gone too far on the issue

....Well damn, that's not even close to the economy....

Oh and then there's this:

The poll was a collaborative effort across several news organizations that drew on about 100,000 interviews conducted by phone, online and in-person at polling locations with a margin of error of 0.6%.

Oh really, it's a collaborative effort?

Let me pull up my original source I posted.

The AP Voter Poll is a survey of the American electorate conducted by SSRS for The Associated Press, ABC News, CBS News, CNN, FOX News Media, NBC News and Versant.

Oh would you look at that, I bet you the same takeaways that your source cited, including the war and ICE came from the same voter poll, just with a layer of opinion.

Enough of that scenic route, sorry about that, let me get back on track.

So, your own source, which is based the same source as my citation outlined multiple issues that voters said were important to them and what drove them to vote. Yes the largest concern is the economy and I did not dispute that at all in original comment. I asserted that there were multiple things that factored in this election including the economy and including democracy, which that's the war, that's ICE that your source references. Most people are not single issue voters since we are mostly capable of holding my multiple opinions of varying importance, which your source acknoweldges.

Your assertion, and I'm going to quote you here, your original argument

Give your head a shake bud, this win was entirely about cost of living.

Your own source completely refutes your argument right there. There's a difference between saying X was a major driver and your assertion that it was the only driver.

Also, because I like to drive a knife further on why your argument is bad, let's take a look at a CNBC poll that they did right before the election since you like that source.

Corruption is voters’ top issue ahead of midterm election, CNBC survey shows

Man, you're really bad at this.

ETA: Just to also post this from my source:

Notice that this continues to bolster my original argument that both the economy and democracy/holding people accountable were the major drivers in this election.

48% of Democrats say democracy/accountability is important, 28% of "Independents" also cite democracy/accountability. But again, according to you swing voters will just say anything and I'm sure you'll twist yourself into saying that ~30% is insignificant and means nothing. Probably something like "Look at the Republicans, they don't care about democracy, it's not important to anyone then, checkmate atheists!"

Wow, you're really bad at this.

Lol, says the person who communicates like this.

You still refuse to acknowledge the difference between what people say they care about and what actually motivates them to change their vote.

Read and understand your own sources as well as reading and comprehending your own argument because clearly you don't.
