Hey I know shitjustworks and lemmy.world are being defederated from beehaw but can we get an official list that gets updated when there are other instances that are being defederated?
It would help navigate the fediverse a lot.

Then I think you are doing a pretty bad job at being unbiased and fair to people who have not done anything wrong, but are simply wrong by association.

The term "skinhead" is also not associated by nazis only, as it is a wide subculture with lots of different people with varying political beliefs, such as antifascism.

I would say this is similar to nazis co-opting Pepe The Frog and then it being reclaimed over time.

we have literally hundreds of things to do per day to keep the site running. we do not have the time to personally litigate and check whether literally every instance or group on our defederation page--which is using a Tier0 blocklist, to be clear, we explicitly picked the least rigorous one--is "actually worthy" of being there. we're fine with the possibility we may accidentally exclude people because we don't 100% vet the blocklist we use. you are free to take umbrage with that but simply put: this is a backburner issue at best.

I mean, I understand that. I apologize. It wasn't my intention to make it seem as if this is a super important issue that should be resolved right now, it was just general constructive criticism from my side, and when met with the blanket statement "these are nazis" I felt like elaborating and arguing further to get my point across.

I take big issue with misinformation, that's all. I hope in the future you can get enough support to tackle this kind of problem.

"skinhead, youth subculture characterized by aggressively masculine hair and dress styles, including shaved heads and heavy boots. In many countries skinheads are commonly viewed as extreme right-wing nationalists or neofascists who espouse anti-Semitic and other racist views

The racist skinhead movement in the United States has entered its fourth decade. Since the first skinhead gangs surfaced in Texas and the Midwest in the early 1980s, this racist and violent subculture has established itself in dozens of states from coast to coast and has authored some of the country's most vicious hate crimes in memory, from arson to assault to murder."

YOU ARE THE ONE PUSHING MISINFORMATION.

Fetish for shaved heads? Sure whatever

Calling yourself a skinhead? Fuck you.

[–] enitoni@beehaw.org 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I am not pushing misinformation. Did you read the article I linked? From the same article, there is the quote:

On the far left of the skinhead subculture, redskins and anarchist skinheads take a militant anti-fascist and pro-working class stance.[65] The phrase "all cops are bastards" was popularized among some skinheads by The 4-Skins's 1982 song "A.C.A.B."[66][67] In the United Kingdom, two groups with significant numbers of leftist skinhead members were Red Action, which started in 1981, and Anti-Fascist Action, which started in 1985. Internationally, the most notable skinhead organization is Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice, which formed in the New York City area in 1987 and then spread to other countries.[68]

Stop letting nazis co-opt subcultures and stop calling gay kinksters for nazis for associating with a historically initially neutral subculture that had nothing to do with nazis.

[–] Gatsby@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Like I said, gay kinksters can have a shaved head fetish.

If they call themselves skinheads, they Nazi sympathizers. You are behaving as a Nazi sympathizer.

This isn't the 1980s this isn't the 1960s. Skinheads today are Nazis. They have been for 20 years.

You can argue all you want "a swastika is a Buddhist symbol for luck" but once you get one tattooed on you fuck off.

You're posting misinformation. Either intentionally or you aren't informed.

If someone calls themself a skinhead in person im not gonna wait for the asterisk before i tell them to fuck off and cut contact.

Nazi punks fuck off.

I mean that's your choice to make, but I think it's very immature and not to mention dismissive of the fact that the person in question could just be a gay man into bleachers and boots. Your comment does not seem constructive.
