Election day today. I have a question. What order are parties listed on voting papers? They don't seem to be random, alphabetical, popularity last election, etc. Plus my voting paper had some parties, then a gap, then the rest. How is that decided?

They line up to the electorate candidates from the same party.

Ah... that explains why the major parties were listed at the top, alongside a fringe party. There must have been a local candidate for that party.

I think it's alphabetical by candidate surname and then their party is parallel to them.
