So far I'm really enjoying Lemmy, both the website and Jerboa! But I'm still getting used to the whole federation thing. It's really weird to get used too. Also there seems to be fewer communities/subreddits. I'm missing specific interests...

But the concept is great! I'm excited to be on a open source social network. The mainstream ones are so unethical.

For the specific interest you are missing - if you have enough time and are able to - I would recommend starting the communities yourself, and start posting what you can.

It can get other to join and get the ball rolling.

I'm thinking about it got I'm just so inexperienced, and I'm mostly a lurker. I'm trying not to be on Lemmy though. It's kinda more fun actually engaging with Lemmy than it was with Reddit

I'm liking the 'newness' of it all, but yeah, even working in tech the Fediverse and instances are a new concept to me. Nice to have something new to get my head around, though.
