I hate how breaking things and disrupting people's lives when you don't get your own way has become the done thing.
It's been the done thing as long as protests have existed
It's not "the done thing" which is why it's a protest and say, writing a letter to the news papers isn't.
Writing letters absolutely is a form of protest though.
This really isn't a new phenomenon. New Zealand has a long history of it, too.
In fact the Maori plowing movement at Parihaka directly influenced Mahatma Gandhi.
